Step-by-Step Guide to Your First Laundry Pickup
STEP 1: Select Your Location:
Start on The Laundry Doctor homepage and enter your suburb in the location field. Select the correct suburb from the dropdown to check the laundry services available in your area.
STEP 2: Choose Your Laundry Service
Choose the service that best suits your needs:
- Wash & Iron
- Wash Only
- Iron Only
You can also provide notes about specific laundry preferences, including handwashing, line drying or the use of particular laundry products.
STEP 3: Choose Your Pickup Date & Time
Select your preferred laundry collection date using the booking calendar, then continue to the available collection options.
Choose your preferred Laundry Doctor and an available time block that suits your schedule.
STEP 4: Step 4: Confirm Your Laundry Booking
Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the details of your assigned Laundry Doctor.
If you have special instructions or preferences, you can include them with your booking or discuss them directly with your Laundry Doctor before collection.
STEP 5: Prepare for Laundry Pickup
You don’t need to be home when your laundry is collected. You can meet your Laundry Doctor at the door or arrange to leave your laundry in a nominated safe location.

How Should I Prepare My Laundry for Pickup?
Your laundry can be placed in a garbage bag, plastic bag or reusable laundry bag. First-time customers receive a branded Laundry Doctor bag with their returned laundry, which can be reused for future pickups.
Items Requiring Special Care
We check garment care labels where possible, but please identify any items that require special handling, such as line drying or another specific treatment.
Our standard laundry service uses a regular machine wash and tumble dry. If an item requires different care, include clear instructions when booking.
For regular stain removal, separate and identify the affected items. Please note that specialised treatment for stubborn stains is not available.
STEP 6: Laundry Sorting, Invoice & Payment
How Your Laundry Is Sorted
Once collected, your laundry is sorted into lights and darks for washing. Each category is washed separately to help maintain the condition of your garments.
Please note that separate light and dark washes count as two loads, even when the combined weight is under 5kg. If you prefer your laundry washed together, let your Laundry Doctor know.
Invoice & Payment
Your invoice is calculated based on the total weight and number of loads. Invoices are sent electronically, and payment can be made online using a credit or debit card.
Payment is required before your clean laundry is returned. Business customers with an established payment arrangement may be handled differently.
STEP 7: Receive Your Fresh Laundry
Once your laundry is ready, your Laundry Doctor will return your freshly cleaned items to your nominated delivery location. You’ll receive a notification when your laundry is on its way.
You don’t need to be home for delivery. If you’ll be away, arrange a secure location where your Laundry Doctor can safely leave your items.

Rather than simply connecting you with a third-party laundry service, The Laundry Doctor manages the laundry and ironing process in-house, giving us greater oversight throughout each stage of your service.

What Is the Expected Turnaround Time?
Our standard laundry turnaround time is 2–3 business days from collection to return delivery. Turnaround times may vary depending on the service selected and your laundry requirements.
